EXC!TiNG Postdocs

J. K. Dewhurst

I obtained My PhD at the University of the Witwatersrand, in South Africa. After completing a postdoctoral research post at Uppsala University I joined the EXCITING network as a researcher at the Karl-Franzens-Universität, Graz.

My responsibility is to write the base code for the EXCITING network. This is a full-potential linearised augmented-plane wave code. Written from the outset to be accessible to both users and developers, the code is fully documented and will finally contain many modern innovations in the field, such as time-dependent density functional theory and density functional perturbation theory. The code will ultimately allow for excited state properties to be obtained for any solid using state-of-the-art techniques such as the Bethe-Salpeter equation and the perturbative GW approach.

The working environment at Graz is excellent and the computer facilities are more than sufficient for the envisaged project.
